“Creating memories for our kids.”
That’s a phrase my friend Patricia Paquin and I say a lot. In a world that moves at “high speed” and where our kids have access to everything in just one easy click, it’s easy to believe that nothing lasts forever. But beyond material objects, toys and electronic gadgets, it's the time spent with the people we love that stays in our memories forever. That’s the origin of our mission. In recent years, we’ve become accustomed to taking family holidays together. Whether we’re in a cabin with no electricity or at a five star resort in the south, the idea is to create moments our kids will remember forever. Still today, they talk to us about our first trip in our RV to Cape May.
And the time we were all dressed up as pirates to go to “pirate island” (a place we invented) during a fishing trip.
And the time we improvised a sugar shack at the Paquin-Marcotte chalet.
And again that time where my kids, Patricia and her husband Louis-Francois were in on a surprise my husband organized in the south, to renew our wedding vows.
Once again this summer, we decided to create new memories for our kids by visiting the Gaspésie, a beautiful region of Quebec. Have a look for yourself.
The trip began with an eight hour drive.
We were blown away by the serenity found in the Gaspésie. The scenery is spectacular and my kids got a fishing lesson by M. Marcotte.
Our home chef made us some memorable meals. But seriously… not even at home our meals are so elaborate! (Thanks Louis-Francois for your talent and generosity.)
The kids had so much fun that they forgot their ipods.
We asked throughout the trip, “on a scale of one to ten, how happy are you?” Everyone always answered between eight and ten.
Our kids made new memories, and I had fun spending quality time with my friends. Friendships always took up an important place in my life. Without my friends, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I’m so happy to be so well surrounded. Our vacation will remain an unforgettable memory for myself as well.
