Tanja is crazy about lists! 5 last minute ideas for Valentine’s Day

11/02/2016 Tanja Vaillancourt

Finding original unique things to do is a hobby of mine. I gave you five last week (see my other text in Vita Bella) but I still had 5 more up my sleeve ! I couldn’t resist sharing them. If you hurry, you still have time to make it for Sunday!

  1. If you are solo for February 14th go to the hotel alone for one night.

I heard a famous actress once say that as a gift to herself, every year, she spends a weekend ALONE in a nice hotel. A weekend that allows her to do what she wants: go to the hotel pool, order food in bed, sleep in late, watch corny television, go out for a walk – or stay in. You know what I mean.

  2. Write someone a letter and tell them how much they have impacted your life.

I recently wrote a letter to someone that was significant in my life when I was 18 years old. I figured I would only write her a few lines but to my surprise, I ended up having 3 full pages. It felt so nice to write such a letter. Even made me cry. Now I have to find the courage to send it to her

  3. Take somebody on a date.

A real date. A friend, a lover, your husband. A “I made reservations in your favourite restaurant, this is the dress code, I will pick you up at 7 :00, the rest is surprise” kinda date. Everybody loves that (even if they say they don’t.) People know how much time and planning this takes.

  4. Do something surprising and unbelievably kind for someone who will not expect it

Offer someone a massage or something they can’t buy for themselves. You have to find that one thing that is so generous you can’t possibly do it regularly. The impact will be magical and will make that person feel really special knowing that somebody cared enough about them to do something at that level.

  5. Make something with your hands.

You don’t have to spend that much. Like this curtain of hearts. Go on Pinterest. It is the best place to find ideas, for work and home, when your creative juices aren’t flowing.

Happy Valentine’s. If you want to share your ideas with me, go ahead. I will be more than happy!
