While shopping with my clients last month, I slowly saw store windows transform from bright summer clothes to warm fall outfits. I love summer, but fall dressing is my paradise and I couldn’t be happier that layering season is finally back! Slowly but surely, we’re pulling out our long sleeve tops and cardigans, and transforming are minimal summer outfits into real fashion looks, thanks to the right styling.
To really be on trend this fall, incorporate some of this season's top colours into your wardrobe. Here’s what they are and how to wear them:
Though the colour white is often associated with summer, this year it is also making a return for fall. Forget what you heard and wear white after Labour Day including white t-shirts, jackets, sweaters and pants. The key is to combine white with darker fall colours for the perfect fall outfit. Wear a pair of dark jeans with your favourite white blouse and finish off your look with a jacket in mustard yellow, forest green or tan for the perfect fall look.
My favourite colour for fall 2016 is definitely light pink. If you’re feeling bold, wear a high-impact pink leather jacket with a minimal outfit like a printed dress worn with black tights. If you prefer a more classic look, try a pink cardigan with a pair of pants and a classic white blouse for a look that can take you to the office. If you follow my Facebook page, you know I love this one from H&M.
Burgundy is back for another season! This fall colour can be integrated into your wardrobe as a top, a bottom or even as an accessory. Combine this jacket with a pair of jeans and t-shirt for a casual look. Finish off your outfit with a fun accessory like a scarf.
Khaki green is another great option to accentuate your wardrobe with colour this fall. You’ll find many items such as pants, blouses and jackets in khaki this season. Wear it with other dark colours like black or dark bleu denim for the perfect fall look. You can’t got wrong with a Khaki sweater and black denim combo.
Break up any black on black look by combining some grey elements into your outfit. Wear a grey cardigan with these fake-leather black pants and a blouse. No matter how you wear it, grey is a wardrobe must-have this season!
